Since 1994 the South African education system has been profoundly affected by the social, political and economic changes that have taken place in the wider society. One area in which education has changed dramatically, and which is the focus of this monograph, is in the field of education labour relations. Each chapter of this monograph deals with a pertinent issue on education labour law and labour relations.
Part one of this monograph specifically focuses on individual labour law, namely the employment relationship between employer and employee. Collective labour law, that is, the relationship between the employer and trade unions and other employee organisations, is dealt with in Part Two.
